The proposed facility, when considered with its sister facility, would be the largest hog Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation in the state.
This fact, on its own justifies preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement. However, a robust EIS would also reinforce DNR’s and the Evers Administration’s stated dedication to restoring science based decision-making to the agency.
This new operation plans to house 8,000 sows and produce 9.4 million gallons of liquid manure each year, and would be located on a narrow karstic ridge above the Kickapoo River.

Call to Action for Crawford County Residents & Land Owners on the Need for a CAFO Moratorium 1yr Extension!
Crawford County Board of Supervisors met in December 2019 and passed a CAFO moratorium.
The Crawford County CAFO Moratorium enacted by our County Board of Supervisors in December of 2019 is set to expire soon (December 2020).
We need your help to ensure that Crawford County takes action to protect health, safety, and welfare for all!
How we can all make an impact:
Please call or write your county board representative, thank them for their ongoing work, and ask that they support the County extending the CAFO moratorium for 1 year, and take action based on the recommendations of the CAFO Study Committee.
Hearing directly from constituents is the most effective way to inform and ask for the support of our representatives.
