Volunteers take part in a water quality monitoring training session in 2019.
Crawford Stewardship Project´s Water Quality Monitoring (WQM) Program is looking for volunteers who want to help monitoring ONLY existing sites (streams and springs) of concern in Crawford County, located in Marietta and Wauzeka Townships, once a month from May to November.
We are pleased to announce our upcoming 2020 WQM Training on Water Action Volunteers (WAV) Level 1, in which basic parameters (Dissolved Oxygen, temperature, Biotic Index, pH and Habitat Assessment) will be introduced and performed.
Due to COVID19, there won´t be a place for the training to be held with a group. The training will de done in 2 steps:
Presenting via ZOOM (online conference call platform):
Wednesday May 20th, 4-6 pm: Introduction to WAV & CSP´s WQM Program, review of Level 1 parameters and specifics about the sites that will be monitored. All attendees will pick a site, among the current sites of concern, of their best convenience. Online support documents will be provided.
On-site training:
A date and time will be agreed based on the COVID-19 status, to hold the monitoring training session on the sites according to volunteers selection. Monitoring and safety supplies, data sheets and other resources will be provided.
