As Crawford Stewardship Project's longest standing program, Water Quality Monitoring (WQM) serves a special place in both our organization as well as the community. Our program is built on the efforts of individuals that seek out opportunities to make their community a better place. What better way to do so than to take part in making sure our precious freshwater resources are being looked after.
With the WQM Program, our volunteers get to spend a small amount of time each month testing and documenting steams and springs in the area. The data that our volunteers collect helps to shape decision making about land use at a local and state level! (For historical data, check out our WQM Report.)
So, what do you say? Are you ready to step out into a threatened watershed as a community scientist? This is a fun yet serious monthly commitment to show up for our streams and document how land use can impact water quality. The waters are sometimes murky, but the data is clear!
